Why You Need to Be a Resilient Leader In Your School During a Time of Change

Although restrictions have started to lift across the country and we are heading into post-pandemic times, we are not out of the woods yet in our child care businesses. I know over the past few months you have been working tirelessly to ensure that your children remain safe and healthy under your care, and your staff has had to be more flexible than ever before to make adapt and make sure all health and safety protocols are being followed.

By now, the headache of continuously navigating uncharted waters for months on end may have started to take a toll on you and your staff. And I’m sure as the leader of your business you are probably experiencing the highest level of burnout. But, at the end of each chaotic day, the one thing that you are left in control of is your mindset. As the leader of your school, even during the face of a pandemic, you must make sure that you are protecting your mindset during this time so you can navigate through the storm gracefully and lead your team by example.

In the video below, I am graciously joined by Dr. Nefertiti B. Poyner, early childhood specialist and national trainer at the Devereux Center for Resilient Children. Dr. Nefertiti offers some amazing insights on how both leaders and their team can protect their mindset and train themselves to be resilient and carry on in the face of high-stress changes occurring within their lives.
